got swine?

mmm well it was a pretty hectic weekend. we had some "tonight" fights, then we fell in love again, then we had road-talks, then we watched some tv, made SPICY-HOT-salad :P and talked some more.

more so than having a mutual blog, it's like a lonely blog... :P I wonder if he reads this at all. I'll post in a newer entry how long it took for him to ask me about this post.

Anyways, swine flu is like CRAZY! lots and lots of people are having symptoms and we just had the first decease because of it. Classes have been suspended throughout the state and we are wondering why we continue to work here...the building has no windows and a lot of people have been to Mexico and/or traveled around... it's weird... I don't want to get sick.

I have to call to the Délégation to see if they have stopped or are continuing their work... It's been 5 days since they received it and I would want to receive confirmation or at least some kind of notice from them... anyways, I guess I'll know when they charge me for the application fee...at the moment they haven't.

Well, wtyl, 'cause i'm le-working...:)

Je suis excité

I know, I know, it's been just one day and I'm already collecting information around the www and truth be told, since I lost (well it's no longer listed on Google) a GREAT web forum containing interesting information, I've decided I'll send myself and Fer emails with URLs and the text just in case it happens again.

It's encouraging and exciting to read about other people that went through the same experiences and emotions I'm currently going. We have decided not to read the negative stuff because we shouldn't predispose ourselves to expect something bad to happen. So we're aiming high and have our hopes set even higher. I'll take some time to put in writing something I hadn't written here...

Language used in the blog: Well, even though English is not my first language, you know it's Spanish, I decided to write in English so as to encourage me and Fer to write and express in English. Point No.2 is that this blog is to be a recollection or personal diary for our future kids...and they are probably more likely to want to read it in English or... French, but my French is not as fluent or as advanced as my English...at the time. So hello future kids :P this is me your dad, before turning 30 :|!!!! hehe

Purpose of the blog: Recollect our experience, first my application, then Fer's. I guess at some point this will turn into our living in Canada memoirs, but so far, it's immigration time.

Days so far since application was received: 1...and since Mexico City and DF are under an epidemic of influenza ("gripe porcina"), I sincerely hope this doesn't delay my application situation. :(

What we'll do this weekend: Read the blog I found together :) This is a mutual experience and as such, we'll participate and be involved in every step we take...also we're planning to start the scrapbook (it's been 2 years since we thought of it haha and we're starting it in '09!) and also we'll look for a place to send our digital camara for repairs to add photos and make this more vivid and picture-y.

the process so far...

Well, what a surprise I had yesterday...
something wasn't feeling right, an no wonder, when I checked the address I had sent to my application I realized I had sent it to the embassy instead of the delegation :(
So I called first to the delegation and they said I had to request it from the embassy and re-send it to them... well, not a problem! but...the embassy doesn't take phone calls or have voice-mail, AND they answer you in 10 working days... bah-hum!!! talk about deeeeelays, anyway, I faxed them a request for the destruction of my papers and had to run all over town to produce a new application form along with all the gazillion copies I needed.
Fer helped me :D and in a matter of just one hour we had a new app. form!! yay!!!
So I sent it and today it was received by Marcos Solis, whoever that is :P
so that's it, we lost almost 5 days or so, buuuuuuut, if I hadn't checked as I did, we would have lost plenty more, so all's good.

I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to check some of the pages I had read, in particular one forum about former students of my Uni... and boy! it's G-O-N-E! :( I hadn't saved or bookmarked it and now I can't find it. I tried today to like gather new info and happened to come accross some sites that are very informative and provide me with huge amounts of tips and bits that will prove to be helpful once my process is acknowledged as having started... which I sincerely hope is around the 10th of may :$ one can hope, alright? hehe

so, here we are, with hopes and dreams :)
